domestic beginners class

This course is for the domestic who does very little or no cooking during their working hours.

    * They are taught all the basics as well as kitchen hygiene and etiquette.

    * The course is in English so the student must be able to read and speak English.

    * The Classes are hands on and not a demonstration and we recommend that they practice what they learned at work to test their new skills with their families and employers.

The initial course offered embraces the complete foundations of cooking, i.e the acquiring of basic skills such as  : correct knife handling techniques, chicken de-boning, preparation of stocks, sauces, soups etc, different preparation methods e.g blanching, poaching, oven-baked method, braising, pot roasting etc. etc.

We prepare a variety of different dishes which are easy to prepare, such as:

          - Delicious macaroni and cheese and bolognaise sauce.
          - Then we make a lasagne.
          - Basic baking – muffins, cupcakes, seed loaf, pizza and puddings
          - Soups.
          - Lovely Salads
          - Stews, curries or roasts.
          - Delicious desserts

The full course runs for 4 weeks for R1, 800 which includes a recipe folder, ingredients, apron (for use during the course), certificate.
    * A minimum of 6 per group
    * If the course is not full it will be postponed to another date.
